After the ISIL proclaimed formation of a so-called state in northern Iraq, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Shias found themselves compelled to seek refuge outside the region.Press TV has spoken to some of those who were expelled from the capital of the terrorists' Caliphate - Mosul - and its surrounding areas.

Shias in Iraq are of different ethnic roots.Arabs, Kurds, Shabakis and Turkmen are being hunted by the takfiri terrorists both for their ethnic descent as well as their religious beliefs.

Iranian cleric attended the introduction ceremony for representatives of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in Beirut saying, “Our current war is a war with the domestic enemy of Islamic unity, Takfir (excommunication).”

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in the opening ceremony of the World Forum in Lebanon warned against the efforts of the enemies to spread intrigues based on racism and tribal differences, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said, “Once the nations unite, arrogant powers can never overcome our resources or our might.”

The cleric added,” Islamic territories are rich with natural and human resources but poor nations are dominated by the arrogant powers all the same.”

On the issue of Palestine he noted,” Palestine is the main issue in the world of Islam and unity between Muslims and other religions in the world is the only way to uproot the cancerous existence of the Zionist regime of Israel.”

Ayatollah Araki also touched upon the situation in Syria assimilating issues of the country to those in Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine.

Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought referred to the issue of Takfir (excommunication) and said,” We are amid a war which is against the domestic rather than foreign enemies.” Adding,” Foreign enemies kill us and loot our riches while excommunication is the worst enemy that Islamic nation is confronting.”

He questioned Muslim identity of Takfiri groups because they excommunicate other Islamic denominations and desecrate sanctities of other Islamic schools of thought.

On the reason for launching Lebanon bureau of the World Forum grand Ayatollah Araki said,”Launching this bureau aims at confronting Takfiri movements and also maintains efforts to boost Islamic solidarity.”

Many experts say “no.” Some question whether ISIL has a right to call itself an Islamic group at all.

In an interview with Truth Jihad Radio, Islamic scholar Dr. John Andrew Morrow (Ilyas Abd al-‘Alim Islam) questioned ISIL’s Islamic credentials: “A lot of so-called jihad (such as ISIL’s) is not rooted in Islam. Especially if you look at who’s funding it, who’s supporting it, who’s behind it. Western powers have a long history of using jihadists and Islamists to further their own imperial ambitions. In terms of the foot-soldiers, they may think they are fighting for Islam. But if you look closer, you find they’re furthering the cause of the enemy.”

Dr. Morrow pointed out that much of ISIL’s behavior is patently un-Islamic. He said that the ISIL terrorists love to film themselves committing war crimes that are forbidden by Islam: “They are very proud to commit atrocities. They film it. They upload it to the internet. They have their own websites.”
